B.E.C.S.
Beck Educational Consulting Services focuses on delivering exceptional and results-driven outcomes.
I've been involved in some aspect of health care delivery and administration for more than twenty years. My experience includes hands-on clinical experience, community health education, teaching, and academic administration.. I am skillful in team leadership & faculty development, inter-professional collaboration & communication, curriculum & course development, accreditation & assessment processes, project & programmatic management, content delivery in multiple formats, and methods of instruction for the adult learner. I am a creative problem solver with a passion for interdisciplinary teamwork.
What am I proud of in my career?
As a community advocate I have collaborated with researchers and community leaders to develop and deliver programs to improve the health and well-being of Missourians at every stage of life.
As an OTA program director I demonstrated strong departmental leadership, problem solving skills, and an entrepreneurial approach to the growth of health professions programs. I developed OTA programs and interdisciplinary projects from conceptualization to completion. I'm most proud of developing two OTA programs from the ground up, earning a 7-year accreditation status for a new program, developing and supervising a health professions summer camp for high school students, and coordinating the first ever post-professional OTA Bachelor of Science Degree.
As an Occupatonal Therapy Practitioner at a Level-1 hospital I enjoyed nurturing interdepartmental relationships, expanding therapeutic approaches in the acute care setting, and streamlining efficiencies in the therapy process.
As a community agent of change I've had the pleasure to support projects that improve the lives of my neighbors; sidewalk safety assessment, Universal Design Inclusive Play Park initiatives, and a Sensory Pathway grant project.
I am an active member in the community, I have supported the Howard County MU Extension Council, Howard County Health and Wellness Council, and the Missouri Area Health Education Center.
